Prayers for Kyle

Kyle is going to have three of his wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow. It's not like it's a major thing, but there are plenty of things that people could pray for. Please pray for Kyle, his health and recovery, the doctor performing the operation and the anesthesiologist giving Kyle medicine. Thanks!!

Easter

Moving, finally!

Well, we finally received an email with an assignment last Friday. We are set to move to MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL after Kyle's completion of ACSC (Air Command and Staff College) in June. We are super excited because this was Kyle's #2 pick, Hawaii being the first.

Kyle will be working a staff assignment for SOCOM (Special Operations Command), he will be the Deputy Director for the Inter-Agency Program, we're not quite sure what that entails, but we've heard good things about working for SOCOM. CENTCOM is the other command there at MacDill and it's in charge of running both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and haven't heard high praises for CENTCOM.

All is well on the home front, the kids are doing well after a Spring Break sickness, Luke got it during our vacay and passed it onto Harper, who ended up in the ER this past Saturday to be seen with two ear infections and an upper respiratory infection, they initially thought she might have pneumonia, because her oxygen levels were low, but chest x-rays proved that she was clear of any chest infection. I, too, got sick via Harper, her infection led me to having mastitis, after becoming very ill last Sunday night and all day Monday, I finally was able to see a doctor only to tell me that I didn't not have the flu or strep, but something! After putting two and two together on Tuesday, I made it to the Maxwell Clinic to get some medicine for my mastitis. For those who may not know what mastitis is, it is a infection in your breast of your milk ducts.

So, we'll be looking for a home in the Tampa area, looking forward to getting a house with a pool and seeing some Buccaneers and Rays game!

Still waiting...

We are still waiting for orders. The 'in charge' people told Kyle and the rest of the ACSC classmates that they should know something this week, so we are waiting to see if that holds true. Kyle says he has a feeling, but I am not counting on anything, this is the military, you know, things can change and then change again, etc. Anyway, I promise to keep everyone posted once we find out for sure! We put down Hawaii and South Florida (first and second, respectively) and last Pentagon. There are a few different commands within Hawaii and Florida, so maybe we'll luck out and get one of them! :)

No baby yet, but...

Seven days left, more or less...My due date is next Thursday, but I have an appointment on Monday and my doctor will decide whether or not to induce me on Tuesday after my appointment on Monday. Hopefully, she will come before then, but if not we'll have a baby on Tuesday or soon thereafter! We'll keep everyone posted.

25 days to go

25 days left until we are blessed with our next child. I had an appointment this past Friday, my OB took me off my medicine and now just waiting for nature to kick in! My only problem this week was having kidney stones which landed me in the hospital for 2 days, my kidney is partially blocked, but don't know to what extent because we declined x-rays at the time, since I only have one more month to go, then we figured that I could wait until after I have this baby. We'll keep everyone updated and informed and hopefully soon, we'll have our new little baby girl!

Whew...

Well, we've been officially been living in Alabama since July, but there have been so many obstacles, I just haven't been able to keep up with this blog. So, here's what been going on. We settled in the house in July, went to Puerto Rico, got our household items delivered, got the flu, Kyle started school in the beginning of August, kids started preschool three days a week in late August, kids got the flu, went to an Auburn football game, went canoeing, Kyle almost got bit by a snake, then all was good until the end of September when I started having pre-term labor and ended up in the hospital for four days. Started late on Wednesday evening, still there on Thursday, thought it was Braxton-Hicks, but they were so bad that we went to the hospital that night, gave me a shot to stop the contractions and sent me home, was fine through the night, came back on Friday morning, went back to the hospital, began to dialate, so they kept me and put me on Magnesium (no fun)and had to stay until Sunday and gave me medication to stay on for the rest of the pregnancy. Also, was put on pseudo-bedrest, no lifting and exercising and had to have lots of rest. Had a few contractions and little movement afterwards, went back into the hospital, but was given a shot to help stop the contractions and sent home. Haven't had any contractions/issues in three weeks! Yeah! Had to make it my 34th week of this pregnancy, which is today, and have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to find out more information along with my normal check-up. Doctor said that he would not stop any labor/contractions after my 34th week and we are hoping that he takes me off my medications as well! So, we could have a baby between now and December! We'll keep everyone posted.

Last post for awhile

Well all, the time has come. The movers are here today and tomorrow, so this will be our last post until we receive our stuff in Montgomery. I hope that you all have a safe and wonderful next month and upcoming 4th of July. We will be leaving on Saturday for Haines, AK to take the ferry to Bellingham, WA, then our drive starts from there. We'll be heading to Missoula, MT, Mt. Rushmore, SD, Omaha, NE, Springfield, MO, and lastly Tupelo, MS before arriving in Montgomery on the 1st. After we arrive in Montgomery, we'll check into our house then head to Pensacola for a couple of days, then back to Montgomery for a night before we head to Atlanta to catch our flight to Puerto Rico for a week to celebrate Kyle's parents 50th anniversary, then we'll be back in Montgomery.

Only 2 weeks left...

Only two more weeks left before we leave Alaska. I can't believe that time is sneaking up on us so quickly! We have most of the house packed and ready to go for the movers (we're packing the boxes, but the movers are loading the truck for us here). I am starting to realize that we are actually moving now, it hit me yesterday when I was running errands and saw some friends, which I no longer will be seeing after we leave, but we all can not wait to get to Alabama (and the warmer weather)!!

Big Announcement

Just wanted to let everyone know 'officially' that Kyle and I have been blessed to have another child. My 'official' due date is December 15, the baby is measuring big, but they aren't going to change my due date, so I might be a little earlier in December, either way, we are going to get a nice Christmas present this year! We'll keep everyone posted on what this one will be, of course, we want a healthy baby, but we do want to know the sex of it as well. I think it's a boy and I haven't been wrong yet.

Aubrey is much better

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Aubrey is doing much better, she still has to have eye drops every day, but the frequency is much less, only four times a day now and her eye is no longer red and swollen. The infection is still present and she is still seeing the doctor every couple of days, instead of everyday.

This is a picture of Aubrey during the height of her eye infection, you can see that her eye is red and swollen and filled with puss, much of the time, it wasn't even open.

Prayers for Aubrey

I am asking for your thoughts and prayers today for Aubrey. On Sunday, we noticed that her right eye was extremely watery, she really hadn't complained much about it that day, but thought nothing of it until bedtime, it was still watering. We decided that if it didn't go away after she woke up the next day, it was something important...last summer, right before the Air Show, Aubrey pulled a paper calendar down onto her head and got a corneal scratch on one of her eyes and ended up in the ER, so we thought it may have been scratched again. So, after sitting in the ER on Monday, because no one would see her for eye problems, they finally sent us up to the Optometry clinic. The doctor prescribed her some antibiotic/steroids drops and informed us that she has a corneal ulcer on her eye. We've been seeing the doctors in the Optometry clinic everyday this week and they still don't know why or what caused it, they do know that it's not bacterial or fungal in nature, but the ulcer doesn't seem to be going away and we have to go back again tomorrow to see the doctor along with a surgeon (I think), so please pray for the quick healing of her eye. The doctor that I've been seeing said that it could take weeks to months for the actually healing of her eye and she will most likely have scaring on the cornea, but at least it's not in her field of vision, but will have to have a waiver to be a pilot. :)

Future Pilots of America

This past weekend we went to the annual Aviation Trade Show. They had planes outside to look at and get into, free candy, balloons and information for all the pilots up here. The kids had a blast, they loved seeing all the planes, go figure. We hit all the major planes, C-17, C-130, F-22, Blackhawk, DC-3, DC-6, C-46, UPS 747 and Fed-Ex DC-10. Kyle is trying to get the kids exposed to all types of planes, so far, Luke only wants to fly the F-14 Tomcat, we haven't the heart to tell him yet that it no longer exists. He loves to watch TopGun (TV version), pretends to Maverick, Aubrey gets to be Goose, and goes around flying his airplane. :)

Saying Goodbye...

We said goodbye to some very dear friends of ours last week. We have known the Hendricks family since 2004 and both Luke and Brianna were only a couple of months old. Fornuately for us, we'll still be able to see them, they are off to Warner-Robins AFB, Georgia and it's only a two hour drive from there to Montgomery. Plus, they love to head to Pensacola as often as we do.

Easter Sunday

Easter Train

Today we went on the Alaska Railroad Easter Train from Anchorage to Willow, it was less than six hours long, which is the perfect amount for kids, but they get to experience a real train ride and all that goes along with it. They kids got to color, make crafts, meet the Easter bunny, get candy, see a magician and lots of other stuff.

Here is a picture of Luke after winning the coloring contest for 1-4 year olds, he was happy that he won, but upset that he didn't win the grand prize--a AK Railroad train set, he won an AK Railroad stuffed bear which he gave to Aubrey, who absolutely loved it.

These pictures (above and below) are of Luke and Aubrey with the magician that came through the cars. Luke volunteered to 'hold' the bunnies, but the bunnies kept multiplying. The finale came when Aubrey was to 'hold' the bunnies and it came out to be a BIG bunny which squeaked. She thought it was so funny that it squeaked. Luke loved the magician and thought he was a delight.

At first, Luke was hiding under our table and wouldn't come out to see the Easter bunny, but I coaxed him out long enough to get a picture, then when it gave him candy, he was cool with it. Aubrey was intrigued by it and wanted to see it, but when it got closer, she became shy, but after I gave the Easter bunny high fives, the kids relaxed and gave it high fives too.
